We cannot include all suggestions especially if a topic is already well covered. Links are intended for a rushed clinician possibly with a patient in the room. Other caveats include:

1. No 'alternative' medicine or primarily promotional sites will be included.
2. Original basic science papers and clinical trial reports are rarely included. The Diseases Database supplies a Medical Subject Headings 'aware' search interface to Medline. We do not duplicate coverage of National Library of Medicine databases.
3. We exclusively link at subject level. If a site contains (say) 'Guidelines on asthma management in Elbonia', it must permit direct links to that page. Links to indexes or 'general' homepages will not be included. For example we would not link to "Welcome to the Elbonian Society of Respiratory Medicine" from the Suggested links for Asthma page. Beware frames: a single click must get you there.
4. We will link to subscription-charging sites provided they have eligible content which can support the previous caveat. Such links are identifiable and we charge for this service.
5. We consider some 'popular' topics (e.g. asthma, myocardial infarction etc) comprehensively covered by content from our 'core' sites. Extra links on these topics add little extra value while increasing the maintenance burden and list length.

Before inclusion potential links are reviewed by a critical medically qualified reader. Thereafter our robot checks indexed links at intervals. This can alert us to

1. Site removal
2. Page removal
3. Change of page title

Such links are flagged for manual review. The robot cannot detect more subtle change of content. We cannot regularly re-review all links. Please alert us if a site becomes irrelevant or mutates!
